These Terms of Service govern your use of Genealogic and the services available at genealogic.ai and app.genealogic.ai (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Genealogic is a genealogy platform that helps users build family trees, upload and analyse historical documents, and generate AI-assisted historical context about ancestors. The Service is provided by Genealogic, registered in the Netherlands.
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
You retain ownership of the content you upload — family tree data, documents, photos, and notes. By uploading content, you grant Genealogic a limited licence to store, process, and display it as necessary to provide the Service. We do not use your private family data to train AI models or share it with third parties without your consent.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any documents or photos you add to the Service. Do not upload material that infringes third-party rights or contains unlawful content.
Genealogic uses AI to generate historical context, life narratives, and document analysis. This content is generated based on the information you provide and publicly available historical knowledge. AI-generated content is not a substitute for professional genealogical research and may contain inaccuracies. You should verify AI-generated content against primary sources before relying on it.

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods except where required by law. Pricing may change with 30 days' notice.
Your privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data. The Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms.
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We will give at least 30 days' notice before discontinuing the Service entirely.
To the extent permitted by law, Genealogic is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, you may export your data; we will retain it for 30 days before deletion unless required by law to retain it longer.
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under applicable local law.
